Testimonials "David is, by far, the BEST psychotherapist in Boulder!  In the midst of a traumatic time, I was referred to David by a trusted friend. I have not been disappointed. He is proactive and caring, and practices with integrity and respect. Through the work I have done with David, I have been able to resolve current struggles and long standing issues and concerns with new found clarity and emotional objectivity. I am now able to move forward with courage and optimism. David has truly made a difference in my life!

Add Life to your years!
If any of the above challenges apply to you, perhaps I can help.  Many of us feel a gap between our true potential and our everyday experiences.  For over 30 years I have been equipping teens, adults, couples and families with tools to close the gap.  This helps transform stress into strength and pressure into performance.

The feedback that I frequently get is that I am compassionate and able to put people at ease so they feel comfortable sharing their life challenges.  I also am practical and am interested in supporting people in releasing blocks to fulfillment.

My focus is to help people release the pain of being stuck, help them empower themselves and move their lives forward to achieve their goals.  In facing challenges, I find that it is easy to slip into the common reflex modes of "Fight, Flight or Freeze."  For me the antidote to this is: to replace "Fight" with facing the challenge creatively instead of wasting energy in opposition, to replace "Flight" with facing the facts no matter how humbling they may be and finally, to replace "Freeze" with: exploring options, forming an action plan, and doing the work that is necessary to meet the challenge.

I have a Master's degree in Teaching and began my career as a science teacher in the inner city of Detroit.  Later, I helped found and became the Executive Director of a residential school for troubled teens in Canada.  I began my private practice as a therapist in 1990 and am a past president of the Colorado Association of Psychotherapists.

If you are curious about how I work, please contact me for a free 20 minute phone consultation, and we can discuss how I can be helpful to you.

If you have found this site when one or more of the above issues challenges you, perhaps I can help. The following video clip gives an overview of my professional services.
